Shotokan Karate Workshop

We have been teaching Shotokan Karate to teenagers thru adult for many years, in University Hts, with separate classes for males and females. We are offering a fun, safe, and free small group workshop at our location to Girl Scouts so they can experience what Shotokan karate has to offer. Shotokan karate builds lean muscle strength and endurance, helping to improve overall fitness and health. It also emphasizes discipline, focus, respect, and other valuable life skills that can be applied in school and personal life. The structured training environment fosters self-confidence, and provides a strong sense of self-defense, boosting safety awareness and empowering girls to handle difficult or unsafe situations. It’s also an excellent way to relieve stress, manage emotions, and develop character. The workshop will include a brief description of Shotokan’s history and Japanese cultural background. We will lead some warmup and stretching exercises, and then introduce the girls to basic techniques, such as making an effective fist, stance, punching, blocking and kicking, to achieve effective results. Shotokan is for everyone, from children through senior citizens.

The workshop will be at 14270 Cedar Road at Wrenford Road in University Hts. Free parking is available in the parking lot behind the building.

We can schedule a 45 or 60-minute session for a Sunday morning. Call 216-390-6833 and leave a voicemail. You will receive a return call.

The workshop is being offered at no cost.

Care givers and adults are welcome to attend. The workshop will not be very strenuous and will be safe, but like any physical exercise activity, parents will be required to sign a release at or prior to the workshop.

The girls should wear loose clothing for movement and stretching. For example, sweat pants and a T-shirt or sweatshirt would be fine.
