Sustainability Champion Volunteers – Pan-American Masters Games
Greater Cleveland Sports Commission is seeking volunteers to help with sustainability initiatives around the upcoming Pan-American Masters Games (PAMG), a multisport event taking place July 12 – 21, which will draw thousands of athletes and spectators to Cleveland from more than 50 countries.
We are recruiting ‘Sustainability Champions’ for the PAMG Welcome Celebration and Farewell Celebration, events which bookend the Games for the athletes and the community. These volunteers will help us reduce waste and encourage sustainable habits at the celebrations by assisting both local and international attendees sort their waste into the appropriate trash, recycling, and composting receptacles. On-site training and resources will be provided.
Welcome Celebration – Saturday, July 13 from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Farewell Celebration – Sunday, July 21 from 7:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Volunteers will be responsible for their own parking. There are ample parking options in Downtown Cleveland, including garages, surface lots, and metered street parking. Rates vary by location and may include special event rates. The Huntington Park Garage (300 Lakeside Ave E, Cleveland, OH 44113) would be the closest option, but the following link includes several other nearby parking locations. Public transit is also an option.

Volunteers can sign up for these roles through the Pan-American Masters Games Volunteer Registration Site, found here: https://2024panammastersgames.my-trs.com/.
Detailed instructions for the registration process are attached. These positions are currently reserved for groups, but can be accessed with the following code: SUSTAINABILITY. Please sign up as soon as possible.
Caregivers/adults are required accompany any youth for this role. Given the number of expected attendees, many of whom will be international visitors to Cleveland, we want to ensure that the girls have adequate support and are empowered to communicate effectively with guests. Each child and adult will be counted as separate volunteers and should complete the volunteer registration process.
We recommend layers and comfortable shoes since the shift will run from late afternoon into the evening. A volunteer shirt will be provided.
