The Bleating Heart Farm aims to provide all of our guests with a fun, hands-on opportunity to learn about animals, nature, and responsible animal care in a welcoming farm environment. Through interactive visits, girls can meet, feed, brush, pet, and snuggle our friendly farmyard animals while learning about their behaviors, personalities, needs, and the importance of treating animals with kindness and respect.
Our Girl Scout experiences encourage curiosity, confidence, teamwork, compassion, and an appreciation for the natural world. Visits can be customized for different age levels and troop interests and can incorporate educational activities, scavenger hunts, crafts, story time, and outdoor games.
Most importantly, we want girls to learn through experience, have fun together, and leave the farm with new knowledge, happy memories, and plenty of smiles!
We are open seven days per week, by appointment only.
Our large group rates are as follows:
- 10–20 guests: $12 per person for 60 minutes of farm-time fun
- 20–30 guests: $10 per person for 90 minutes
For Girl Scout visits, we typically divide the troop into smaller groups and rotate through different animal stations. This gives everyone plenty of hands-on time to pet, feed, brush, and interact with our friendly farmyard crew. We also incorporate fun animal facts and teach the girls about proper care, handling, and how to safely interact with farm animals.
We can add activities such as a scavenger hunt, storytime, and yard games at no additional charge. You’re also welcome to bring bagged lunches and relax in our shaded picnic area after your visit. (We can provide snacks and age-appropriate crafts for a small additional fee).
Parking onsite is free, and we can accommodate up to 20 vehicles.
Although caregivers are more than welcome as our events are fun for all ages, only troop leaders are required to attend.
Wear close-toed shoes and old clothes that are OK to get dirty. (You will probably leave with hoof prints)!
