Talk to the World With Amateur Radio and learn more of that cool STEM stuff too!

Girl Scouts will learn about the history of radio, from Titanic to today, understand how radio impacts their daily life, find out how Radio Amateurs communicate with both satellites and the International Space Station, see how we use NASA software to talk to the MARS rover and how that same software enables opportunities for the blind and deaf, learn more about Doppler radar and the National Weather Service, how radio messages are sent back and forth every day, with some exposure to basic electronics, visit a working Amateur Radio station and possibly get on the air too!

Typically, weeknights after 6PM with weekends preferred.
This opportunity is readily available in Cuyahoga, Lake and Ashtabula counties, possibly others, depending on distance, as well as remotely or offered at my home station in Painesville.

Caregivers and adults are encouraged to attend, as there is much they can learn from it as well.
