Next Steps After High School

Through this opportunity, Girl Scouts will gain practical tools to confidently navigate their next steps after high school. Together, we’ll explore the pathways to college, including how to identify schools that fit their goals (and not choosing a school because the residence halls overlook the ocean), understand admissions requirements (and how to use their experience as a Girl Scout to stand out, regardless of SAT/ACT scores), and build a clear plan for success (both in and out of the classroom). Girls will practice skills like mapping out their personal interests, setting achievable goals, and connecting those goals to real college options.

With my background in College Student Personnel and 20+ years of professional experience in career exploration and mapping, I’ll guide them through interactive activities that make the college process less overwhelming and more exciting. Parents are encouraged to join the conversation, as we’ll also cover resources for financial aid, scholarships, and healthy academic habits.

Why is this awesome? It’s about helping each Girl Scout see how her strengths (and sometimes weaknesses), interests, and dreams can shape her future. By the end, participants will leave with personalized insights, action steps, and the confidence to take charge of their journey. PLUS, you can earn your College Knowledge badge!
