Comic Artist Badge

Comic Artist Badge (Grades 6–8)

Experienced Teaching Artist from the Center for Arts-Inspired Learning, Shawn Kerns, a multimedia artist and storyteller will help Cadettes earn their Comic Artist badge by diving into the creative world of visual storytelling. Girls will explore comic art, develop their own characters, draw out a story, and bring it to life in a four-panel comic blending imagination, art, and narrative in bold and exciting ways.

The Center for Arts-Inspired Learning is an arts education nonprofit organization that uses the arts as a catalyst to close learning gaps by equipping PreK through 12th grade youth with critical thinking, creativity, and social-emotional skills needed to succeed in school, careers, and life while building stronger communities along the way. Our programs are led by professional teaching artists and take place in schools, recreation centers, houses of worship, and other community venues across Northeast Ohio. CAL offers programming in visual arts, music, dance, theater, digital arts, and more.

CAL Teaching Artist will travel to regular troop meeting space.

This badge experience can be customized to meet your troop’s needs and interests. Pricing varies, and we are happy to work with your budget.
